Discover San Francisco

A city of spectacular panoramas: from the Golden Gate Bridge to the sights of Alcatraz amid the sparkling azure bay, the colorful enclaves of Ghirardelli Square and Fisherman's Wharf, the unique sights and sounds of Chinatown, Japantown and North Beach, then to the hills of the wine country of nearby Napa and Sonoma, the towering redwoods of the Marin headlands, and the breathtaking views of the California coast line in Monterey, Carmel and Big Sur. San Francisco is an adventure unlike any other. San Francisco proves that exciting entertainment and night life can be combined with unique history, art, theater and cultural offerings. International and ethnic delicacies are served in world famous restaurants (one for every day of one's life). Clanging cable cars offer rides through steep hills and swirling fog, a place shrouded in romance and mystery.

San Francisco enjoys a temperate marine climate and mild weather year-round. Temperatures in June range from a high of 67ºF (19ºC) to a low of 53ºF (11ºC). Morning and evening fogs roll in during the summer months, but rarely persist. Visitors are most comfortable with a light jacket or coat. An all-weather coat will take the chill off cool evenings. Lightweight summer clothes are seldom practical in San Francisco as unexpected upswells from the Pacific Ocean and chilling temperatures sweep over San Francisco without notice and can change San Francisco's weather in an instant.
