Scientific Program

The conference program is guided by emerging trends in separations technology and their impact on science and society. The movement towards improved separations by smaller particles, core-shell particles, monoliths, new stationary phases, and microfabricated columns will guide much of the technology discussions. The increasing prevalence of mass spectrometry as a hyphenated method is emphasized in the program. Applications of separations are increasingly driven by emerging trends including new pharmaceuticals, personalized medicine, role of food and environment in health and safety, and technological developments related to energy and chemical manufacturing. These application areas create new opportunities and challenges for the analytical scientist to impact society and will inform the program.
